Hi, my name is Carlos76! If I migrate fully to UC will I receive a refund of my deductions?

I get LCWRA and I also get ESA, because I get ESA,I'm getting my LCWRA deducted each month and if I move my ESA over to LCWRA will I receive my full amount of LCWRA and get refunded because of my deductions because jobcentre never changed this over and they said they would do it for me.
Thank you

The monetary amount gets deducted from UC because it's money you get from ESA.
If you want to end your New Style ESA claim the deductions from UC will end as you would no longer be receiving that income, but no refunds would be due.

Hi Kimi87
Thank you for your reply.
So I'm better off closing my ESA claim and recieving my full amount of universal credit.

The monetary amounts are exactly the same.
Instead of getting +£609.05 a month more UC you get +£609.05 a month NS ESA.
Some people see the fortnightly payment as an advantage, NS ESA is also not means tested so if in future you had say an inheritance that took you over the limit for UC, NS ESA would continue, and if your capital reduced and you were eligible to claim UC again, there would be automatic entitlement to LCWRA with no new medical assessment or waiting period for LCWRA element to be paid, due to the active NS ESA award.

Thank you for your reply.
So is it better for me to stay as I am and leave my payments to continue as they are

That's right, @Carlos76

Hi Ranald
Thank you for your advice

I'm on both and after a lot of thought decided to stay that way, I don't see any downsides and feel there are potential positives so keeping things as they are.

Hi Kimi87
Thank you and after listening to some people,I think that's the best way, I get ESA fortnightly and LCWRA too rate and they deduct that because I get ESA and they said ESA is classed as a income and that's why I get deducted.

Yes that's correct, UC and NS ESA are both income replacement benefits, under the welfare system a person is entitled to one income replacement benefit only.
Hence the ESA being deducted from UC.

Hi Kimi87
Thank you for your greaful information and I Will be leaving my payments as I am,I've had jobcentre email me on my journal about face to face meeting about what help they can offer me and I basically told them I'm not ready for this yet as I've had relapse and my mental health issues have started again, she said it's voluntary and I don't have to take part and she will just give me a phone call and if I'm not happy I don't have to take part and my payment won't be affected
