That is a blow for you, ally68, there is always the possibility of this happening. Do you plan to appeal?

Yes definitely some of the assessors are known to lie

I have never had to, and it must be tough to take.

I'm sorry to hear that @ally68 unfortunately it's quite common these days. The good news is you can still ask for a MR to get them to look at it all again, so don't worry.

Does anyone know if their decision is overturned at a tribunal will they then lose that bonus and have the money taken back from them?

Hi all, just want to clear that up that there is no proof or evidence that the assessors get a bonus if they turn people down for pip

There's no solid evidence of them receiving money to turn people down.

There have been reports in the past that assessors received financial incentives to complete more assessments, but not specifically for rejecting claims. In theory, the number of assessments that were taken on by over-stretched assessors may have affected how accurately they were reported, and this could have lead to unfair rejections. But there is no evidence to suggest that they were specifically given bonuses for rejections now or in the past.

True, has happened to me before, follow the process all the way MR then tribunal if need be, it's a stressful process, but you need to keep going.

Sorry this has happened to you. As Albus has stated it happens a lot nowadays and it is nothing personal to you. You go for the Mandatory Reconsideration, but do this in writing. If you call the DWP they may progress it over the phone but you don't know if everything has been written down. You state why you think you should have got those points describing you difficulties with your disabilities.

There's no such thing as a bonus....my friend recently did the job for a year ..…its a really crappy job and badly paid ....when you consider they are all registered health professionals..

When some people claim that assessors get paid bonuses I have yet to see anyone provide any evidence to substantiate those claims.

I don't think they get a bonus, however I think they are definatley told to try mark down people or have training where they can cut points off.

I got no point then appealed and got 6 points for the care, then a tribunal date come through and got a phone call at 8 one night to give me top mobility if i don't go through with the tribunal … They will offer you top mobility if you have a partner so she can not claim cares allowance and they can force her get a job even if she looks after you

So, you're saying they tried to bribe you to call of the appeal to the tribunal? But they wanted to cut your partner's carer's allowance as the price for this "arrangement"?

    What did you tell them?

I'm currently in the process of going to tribunal. I don't have a carer, however.
