pip question

My mum and brother have just had these txt message but when my mum last attempted to claim pip and when I did last year we did not get this sort of text. We got txt saying, they had received our pip forms & they were looking at the claim, than it was a txt about the assessment appointment but they have received a txt saying "A Health professional is looking at your PIP claim. They will contact you with appointments if they need to" so we are not sure what that means has we did not have this text before so not sure if it is new one. But they are a little worried that a health professional is going to make a decision and it will go against them without speaking to them first.

Hi @jo1984 from what I've seen, this looks to be a standard message. Perhaps, they've amended the wording recently. Also, a number of people who received this text then contact to arrange an assessment so hopefully you'll hear something from them soon.

Try not to worry, it's a text message that goes out to claimants. It means a Health Assessment company working on behalf of the DWP is now looking at your claim. They will contact you if they need to, this means that you may have sent in enough evidence for the Health Assessment company to do a paper based assessment and you will not be contacted, or they will contact you for an assessment if they need further information from you. That is all the text means. You can have a paper based assessment where you have sent in enough evidence, so you will not be contacted, be aware of that! Hope this helps.

Ok, thank you Holly and Trevor. I will tell my mum and brother. And tell them to make sure they pick up the phone, so they do not miss there call (if they call). Once again thanks
