I would really appreciate it if I could get an extension on my pip review as it's due back on 6th August and I've got an appointment with citizens advice to fill it out for me on 5th August as I am registered as partially sighted and I can't do these things on my own please could someone get back to me asap as I don't want to miss the cut off period. {personal information removed by moderator}

Thank you very much for your help.

    @simonnorton1

    First steps is to ring or get someone on your behalf whilst with you to ring PIP the number is on your PIP review letter that came with your form. Just explain the same thing that you just explained to us and they will hopefully extend.

    Hi there @simonnorton1 welcome to the community.

    We're a disability equality charity, we're not actually part of the DWP I'm afraid. You'll need to give them a call in the morning to discuss the extension with them. I'd recommend calling when the lines open at 9, you'll have less of a wait that way. 😊

    Hi @simonnorton1, unfortunately they don't have a public facing email address. The telephone lines are very well known for long delays unfortunately. I wonder if maybe someone at your local job centre might be able to help get the message to the right department if you were to contact them.

    Hi @simonnorton1, a few weeks ago, I had to call for an extension on 0800 121 4433, as the appointment I received from SARC for help was four days after the return date.

    I called in the morning & after a 20 minute wait it was answered & it then took about 5 minutes for the guy to extend for a fortnight. As he said, I then received a text confirming & then a letter a few days later too. Also, if I needed extra time to call again. You have time, so don't give up trying. I called at about 11am, so I maybe caught them after their coffee break, as he was a happy chappie. 😉
