Carers element
I've been my daughter's carer for 5 years but I get lcwra now so it's stopped. I never got a carers element on UC should I have been getting this as well as carers allowance?

When you didn't have lcwra you should have been getting the carer element yeah, did you tell UC you were a carer?

Yes I told them and done the change of circumstances too

Lots of people get mixed up with Carers Allowance and Carers Element - you say it's stopped now you get LCWRA- did you yourself end the CA claim?

No I got a letter from CA to say it had stopped due to getting lcwra

Was it a letter through the post or your UC Journal?
As far as I know you can get Carers Allowance + LCWRA, but not Carers Element + LCWRA.
If you look at a statement from before your LCWRA award, is Carers Element listed on there?
Currently £201.68, was £198.31 pre April.

It was a letter through the post. Carers allowance is on my statement from before I got lcwra

The carers allowance showed as a deduction of £353.xx on your previous statement?
That's beyond my knowledge then as I thought you could get Carers Allowance alongside LCWRA, and I'm not aware of any recent rule changes.
(from November)

Yes that's right. I will look into it, thanks for your help

Perhaps a trained benefits advisor can assist with why CA stopped, and also advise on a retrospective Carers Element claim.
