hi I have a home visit tomorrow so they can verify my ID , as my mental health condition etc I couldn’t go to jobcentre. I feel really sick and anxious as I don’t like strangers in my home due to an assault i suffered although thankfully it’s a lady who is coming . ( no disrespect to men btw just how is for me ) . I have so much ID. And bank card etc but not really statements but I took screenshot of bank so shows it’s mine etc will that be ok do you think ? I also have a tax thing from benefits which shows everything on there too and bills . I’m not sleeping at all as anything like this or any kind of appointment where someone needs to see me my ptsd and anxiety just kick in to overdrive . Thank you for reading .

Hi @traciesmith1996 that's completely understandable, it's your safe space and someone entering it is bound to cause you some anxiety, especially given what you've been through - totally get why you feel more comfortable with a woman. It sounds like you've got a good deal of information ready so I'm sure it'll be fine. I hope it goes well and the visitor is nice and friendly 😊

I had a home vist for ID too - as I don't leave my home and my anxiety and mental health are so bad, that I don't like strangers in my home either. I was getting myself in such a state, as didn't have much ID.

But the lady was so understanding and nice and it took about 10 minutes. I hope it goes well for you. I know how distressing the thought of these things are.

Thankyou holly_scope and azura , yeh I can’t bare it I won’t even answer my door unless I know who it is . I get anxious if the postman knocks lol I’m that bad . Thank you for commenting and sharing also . I’ve been on esa a long time and went through battles initially to get that but was awarded enhanced disability and put in support group as that bad so I just stress over this kind of thing . As long as in and out hopefully il survive ha . Sure I won’t sleep tonight tho as I’m a massive worrier and overthinker ( I’m my worst own enemy ) but I’ve always been like it ha . Thank you really appreciate your support . X

I understand. I have a panic attack even when the phone goes. Everyone knows not to call me, unless it's urgent. And I know what you mean about the postman. Nobody is allowed to knock on my door either - it literally makes me shake with fear.

I do so hope it isn't too bad for you. Let us know how you got on, if you are able to. x

had home visit and woman from DWP , was lovely she also advised me to apply for pip which tbf I’d been told a few years ago too but I never have as said the thought of going through medical again but she said I could do over the phone . So I might do this when feel a bit stronger in head space .

Hi @traciesmith1996 I am glad your home visit went well. Just apply for PIP when you are ready.

    Take care.

You can always get support from local welfare rights, I had help filling in my form and that was done over the phone. https://advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

Thank you . I was also wondering about medical evidence from my gp as it’s been years since had to provide ( for my esa ) . And also because of how severe my anxiety and ptsd I haven’t been to docs in years and communicate by phone . So I’m worried they won’t provide enough evidence for me . They know obviously so much but not everything over last few years and also can my gp just say no not writing a letter etc ? I guess I’ve just sat not applying for pip because I hate the hassle and stress . I worry 24/7 and I get drained from things like this . But I know I’m entitled and the extra help would be good . I’m also going back into therapy so maybe they would help I don’t know . I’ve just heard it’s tough applying that’s why I never bothered . 🤷‍♀️ x

So glad it went well for you - that's one hurdle overcome. Yes, do think about PIP, when you are feeling up to it. x

Same here! Really pleased it was a nice lady. I bet you feel relieved to have it done with now. Also pleased about the therapy. You've been through a lot so some support, even just an ear and some extra coping mechanisms do wonders. I'm currently in Therapy, and it was the best thing I did! Although it was really hard to begin with, and still can be at times I am so glad I took that leap @tracies1996 😊
