When a review is due and an award is granted do you lose a year of PIP .

I mean my next review is 2027 a year before the award ends, and my award was due to end in March 2026 , so I lost that year . so if I am awarded PIP again for 3 years does year 2028 get taken away ?

If this is the case are we really awarded 3 years and it is in fact 2 years ?

I hope you can understand what I am trying to ask .

Yes, basically. Though they often take most of that year to make a decision. However if you award gets upped you will at least get extra money earlier.

Only at the time a decision maker, at review, says you are no longer entitled to PIP, will your award be stopped. Then you may ask for a mandatory reconsideration. Then if necessary take your case to tribunal. If you are successful at that stage, then you will get a backdated payment right up to the time the award was stopped. So in my understanding, ultimately, no you won't lose a year of PIP…
