Hi, my name is birdbath! Letters from pension credit looking for bank statements, is it a scam?

I love in N I just got two letters the same about my pension credit and D W P looking for bank statements and accounts firstly from 14/01/2011 and second from22/09/2017 I am not sure what to do can anyone help or explain ..I get the feeling this might be a scam ..thank you
