Title: It’s great to donate. A black woman with curly black hair and colourful clips. Smiling enthusiastically and reaching her arms out. She’s wearing an orange woven top.

Thinking of having a summer clear out? Donate your pre-loved things to your local Scope shop! Make space, feel great and help create a more equal future for disabled people.

Every bag of pre-loved donations can fund a vital call to Scope’s helpline. Allowing us to give support and advice to a disabled person when they need it most.

A pink circle. Within it states: 1 bag of donations equals 1 helpline call* A yellow love heart is at the bottom left hand side of the page.

One bag of donations (worth around £15) funds a 15-minute call.  Last year alone, we supported over 35,100 people through our helpline.

Every donation helps us reach more people who need support. Thank you for making a difference.

"I'd been so stressed because of my Personal Independence Payment (PIP) application. My Scope helpline adviser was friendly, down to earth and helpful. He broke his advice down into simpler chunks so I wasn't overwhelmed. He gave me good tips for completing my PIP form, and advised I could ring back at any time to go through my answers. He also sent me an email with helpful links to guides. I am very impressed and so wish I had heard of Scope before. It's a huge relief that I can access their help now."

Holly, I must confess that my donations go to a different charity shop where I earn a £2 credit for each bag! I'm poor enough for this to make a difference.

There is a Scope shop near me and I usually buy a calendar in the New Year when they go on sale for half price. Sometimes I walk in and straight out again if there is music blasting out. I've tried mentioning this but may as well be speaking Chinese! (sorry 😶)

That's fair enough @WhatThe. The calendar sounds like a nice idea to support. I must have a look into those myself ☺️

My Scope branch is always the first charity shop to reduce their calendars in the New Year so don't delay, buy today! 😉

My local scope shop shut this year, same with the charity shop next to it which is now been been knocked through and is another nail bar.

I'd gladly donate things to Scope but like most charities they will not collect. I have a full box of clothing sitting here waiting from somebody to take it to a charity shop for me.

That's a real shame @durhamjaide2001, sorry to hear that.

And @Zipz that's really kind of you. Have you managed to source somewhere that will collect elsewhere?

Age UK did a collection 3-4 years ago and OXFAM about 2 years ago but these were huge collections. I'm dependent on other people taking stuff for me. Meanwhile, I'm tripping over boxes 📦 🙄

Oh no, that doesn't sound ideal at all @Zipz! I hope you've got someone who can do that soon. It's for a good cause after all. And I bet you'll be pleased to get rid of the tripping hazards 😊
