Having issues with UC! Verification, DLA. Not responding. Stressed.

Hey!

So I’m feeling really stressed.

My daughters DLA moved from mid care to high on renewal.

I reported this to UC the day I got the letter(1st August) , changed my circumstances and told them it has been awarded from 9th July.

Had nothing but issues since.
First they told me to accept new commitments or my UC could stop?

Was searching frantically for these commitments and couldn’t find any.

Then after a few more days I got a message saying there waiting for it to be verified.

14 days later I messaged again asking if the higher element will be in my next payment - was told no timeframe.

Now 19 days later I’ve messaged asking if they can chase this up as it’s nearly been 3 weeks and my assessment period closes on the 24th, this message has been ignored.

I’m so worried there not going to give it me.

To make matters worse in in the process of finding somewhere to live (I’m lodging right now after a separation last year).

It’s likely to be private renting as I’m getting no where with the council.
once I secure somewhere and upload all details are they going to not pay me straight away keeping it in verification for months?
I’m not even sure I’d be able to afford the second month rent if they don’t give me housing element.

Obviously I’m not at that stage yet but all this with the verification of DLA has not only got me worried about that, but also about what will happen when I do claim housing element.

Hope this message makes sense.

thank you

    Hi,

I've recently made a housing costs change, and that took about 3 weeks to go through. Obviously that's only one person, but based on that, you may not get Housing Element in time for the first month, but should get it in time for the second.

The DLA change also requires DLA to communicate with UC, so the delay could be on their side as well. I don't think there's anything to worry about at the moment. The human side of UC is very slow unfortunately. Despite being able to update things online immediately.
