Experience with Diverticuar disease
Hello everyone, I'm a new member. I thought that my experience would be worth sharing. I had been suffering with excruciating pain in my abdomen whilst in bed at nighttime, for several years. I underwent bowel screening, the dreaded colonoscopy. During this procedure I was told I had Diverticular disease. I was informed that the effects can be reduced with my diet. Over the last few years I've been trying to lose weight. To this end I replaced sugar with sweeteners and drank alcohol free beers. My wife suggested that I stop having sweeteners and alcohol free beer, obviously I agreed with her very quickly 😀 and stopped taking sweeteners completely. The stomach cramps stopped. I have been free of pain for 12 months now. Maybe this diet change may help someone else.
