grateful for advice on poor care and unmet needs in care home

Evening everyone I would be grateful for any advice; my 72 year old friend Susan is blind and is in an appalling care home; she has been in for 2 years; is only 72; She was assaulted in the care home and never received any physio or counselling; she is traumatised and sits in a chair 12 hours a day; it is medieval. I have just got back from New Zealand and am helping Susan , as her best friend is 103 in New Zealand; has anyone ever had to do a complaint to Social services or The NHS Continuing Care people; Liverpool does not seem to believe in safeguarding as most of the care homes are failing or indequate. I am thinking of official complaints leading to ombudsman; my friend could have another 30 years left to live thank you so much Susan

Hey there @Susancoach and a warm welcome to the community.

It sounds like your friend really isnt having a great time, I'm so sorry to hear that.
For complaining, the first port of call would of course be with the care home themselves, so the care home manager. Then you can up the complaint to the local council that the care home is in. There's some good information here on the complaints procedure and also a search bar to find the local councils complaints procedure.

I complained to a NHS Continuing Health Care about a private care company on behalf of a contact. The firm was changed.

The most important thing you say here is that Susan has been assaulted. Assault is a criminal offence. You ought to report it to the police. Don't waste time reporting a serious crime to the manager of Susan's home or indeed Social Services or NHS CHC. This is a criminal matter.

I have complained about two private firms of daily carers used by NHS CHC to supposedly meet a friend's needs. They were changed.

The most important thing you say is that Susan has been assaulted. Assault is a criminal offence and a matter for the police. Please do no waste time speaking with the home manager if you believe that Susan is a crime victim. Call the police.
