PIP Assessment text- mentioning new condition

Hi, all, as it says, I got a text today from the DWP saying that my PIP is under review and I'm going to be sent a form, and I need some advice regarding new conditions. I have not told the DWP about a me/cfs diagnosis I received last year. There are two reasons for this- 1, I still expect this to be a temporary condition, and 2, nothing's changed at all. It hasn't worsened my mental health, and my mobility is unaffected.
I've looked over PIP descriptors and I'm certain that I won't score any new points. I understand from reading forum posts from members with circumstances very similar to mine that I'm not required to report new diagnoses unless there's a certainty that I would score more points. So I would assume that I can notify the DWP when my form arrives? But if I'm wrong then presumably I'd be in a lot of trouble, subject to investigation/fines, so if that's the case then I wouldn't know what to do. Hoping someone can help, many thanks.

Edit: is this a stupid question?

You are correct in not needing to report the change if it doesn't have any effect on the descriptors. Diagnosis is not as important as impact and ability.

It's not a stupid question.

Hi @RVJ11
You don’t need to tell the DWP about a new diagnosis unless it’s actually changed how your condition affects you day to day but since you’ve said nothing has changed and it hasn’t made things worse then you have done nothing wrong by not mentioning it until now.
You can decide whether to include the ME/CFS when your review form arrives and if you do, just explain that it hasn’t changed your needs. Personally I always think its best to as open and honest as possible with these things but there's no need to worry about getting into trouble because you haven’t misled anyone or claimed more than you’re entitled to!0 -
Hi, thanks for your responses- I'm so relieved! So there's no danger of me getting into trouble if I do mention it? Many thanks
