Universal credit application

Hi to all,
My Letter Says that I need to Apply for universal credit by 24th of October so when do I actually need to apply by what is the cut of date as I need to keep my benefits and can I still ask them to pay my rent instead of me doing it.

You need to apply by the 24th October.
We recommend on the forum that you apply the day after an ESA payment.
Once you apply for UC your legacy benefits end, apart from the final payment known as the run on payment. This is paid around 2 weeks later.
3 weeks after that you will receive your first UC payment.
You can apply for an Advance Payment if needed, this is a loan repaid via deduction to your UC award.
Once you apply online you'll have access to the online UC account known as the Journal.
You write a Journal note asking that your rent be paid directly to LL.
Citizens Advice have a Help to Claim service, they can support you before during and after your claim.

I get my esa last payment on the 3rd of November, my claim stops on the 7th would the 5th be to late or should I do it 2 weeks earlier after my other payment

It's up to you, we do recommend applying the day after an ESA payment, this helps ensure the run on payment is for the full amount (ESA is paid two weeks in arrears).
