A house move to a different area won't end Transitional Protection.
If your Housing Element increases due to new rent being more expensive, your TP will reduce by a corresponding amount.

thank you for replying I’ve been trying all day to get an answer! Rent is more expensive by £172 so is that what it would reduce by.

it’s also a different council does that change anything

Yes your Transitional Protection will reduce by £172 if you are entitled to another £172 in Housing Element.
Or if say you were entitled to (random number) another £50 maximum in Housing Element then your TP would reduce by £50.
No it being in a different council area doesn't make any difference to my advice.
