Free swimming with pain in Derbyshire Dales

I have Parkinson’s and long term persistent MSK. I love swimming but really fear being bumped about in the pool. It can be really risky for me.
For the next nine weeks there is a free supervised weekly swimming session at my local pool. Here’s a link if anyone wants to join in:
I’d be really interested in finding out whether/how other members with pain manage to swim safely, or why they choose not to swim. One of my friends in another city can’t swim because she’s not allowed to use her pusher/walker poolside! Another finds pool noise levels overwhelming (auditory processing) and hates being touched so avoids crowded pools. For me, I’m really slow so get swim over with horrible results unless other swimmers understand why.

Hi @NCL
Thank you for sharing this! When I was first diagnosed with my disability I was recommended swimming as my main form of exercise as its very low impact.
I do find being in the water very calming in general and it is a very low pain exercise for me in comparison to some other types of exercises I have tried in the past😊0
