Hi guys.

I need to apply for uc and I am really stressed about it.

in order to apply do I just use a standard route, “create an account”? Or is there a separate website for those who are on ESA and need to apply for UC?

Also if I am not able to confirm my identity online since I can’t locate my passport is there an option to ask for a phone or face to face appointments? Would the system allow me to still submit my application even though I can’t find my passport?

    Hello Dude2024

You would create an account the same way as anyone else, there is no separate page to create an account as part of the managed migration,

Once your account is setup you can take your time completing the online claim, you can save your progress for Upto 28 days from the date you created your account.

When it comes to ID, do you have a driving license? I was able to confirm my ID with a driving license and answering some questions related to my credit report such as when did I last take a phone contact out.

If you are unable to confirm your ID online, You can do this at a job center, or if this is to difficult for you, a telephone appointment can be arranged, they will ask you questions only you would know the answer to, a home visit can also be arranged, but this can delay your first payment because of how long it will take for a home visit to take place.

Best of luck to you! Any more advice needed you are in the right place, many others will also be more than happy to help you through this process! Please remember there are no stupid questions!!!!

creating the account is straightforward. Using passport and driving liscence for id works fine also. But uc and having a journal is an abseloute nightmare going from work related activity group for over a decade for mental health with a couple of telephone calls a year tops to being put on monthly mandatory appointments. So before ever receiving a penny uc I’m at a loss theres no way I can do it and my coach says that’s the only way forward. I don’t know what I’m gonna do
I hope you have better luck than me.

in your case, which really upsets me to hear, would you not be able get your GP to write a letter saying they believe there is a substantial risk to your mental health if they do not place you in the LCWRA group?

hi I really don’t know what I’m going to do tbh it’s got me stressed out worse then ever coping with changes is something that I really struggle with but this whole uc and having to check journal was hard enough to deal with, the work coach cut the appintment short because he could tell I was not coping with it but still insisted it has to be a monthly thing, I’m not sure I’d get placed in the lcwra group I once got placed in support group around 2017 ish time and 3 month later got a esa50 and was swiftly put back in the wrag. It’s got me so stressed out I can’t think about anything else.

I would advise you to consider asking for a reassessment if you feel that you should be in the LCWRA group. If you are really struggling to engage and the appointment with the work coach was cut short it sounds as if you should have LCWRA. If you ask to be reassessed you will be sent a Work Capability Assessment form to complete. I would advise you to get support from a local advice agency to do this you can use the following to find one
