Carers element and college.

hi,
My youngest gets middle rate DLA, UC disabled lower rate and I get carers element. I’m also in the no work related commitments group on UC. If I go to college to do a full time course will I lose my carers element and be placed in the work group? Thank you

Hi @girlmommytee, welcome to the community. Are you also on LCWRA for health conditions or do you have no work commitments due to your caring responsibilities?
From my understanding, carer's element has similar eligibility requirements to carer's allowance and it's unlikely you would be able to claim it and study full time. However, it might be worth speaking to a benefits adviser just to clarify as they'll know the latest legislation and should be able to look at your case as a whole.
There's a place to search for local advisers on the Turn2Us website:
I'm sure some of our members might have some advice too, so I hope they'll be along soon ☺️
