LCWRA & Going Abroad
Hello,
I claim UC & LCWRA & PIP. I get these because of my Autism, OCD, ADHD & other conditions.
I am going abroad on the 30th NOV - 5th DEC to visit a family friend. And, I’m really stressed/anxious about informing UC. I am worried in case they use going abroad against you. Mainly because I have set routines in the house, but when I go out of the house or if I stay at another family members house it is nice because I get to have a little break from the routines that I do in my house. It’s hard to explain, but that’s just an example.
I know I don’t have to inform PIP, but on UC it says you need to tell them.
I also think I have my LCWR review soon, because I was awarded it in May 2024, and they said it would be reviewed again after 18 months, which is very soon. Because of this potential review I’m worried about information them about going abroad.
I really don’t know what to do. Can you please share some advice?

I have LCWRA, didn't tell them about my abroad holiday this year, I have no work commitments so I decided not to say anything.
Reviews for the vast majority for those receiving LCWRA have been suspended for several years, and significant backlogs exist within the system. Very few LCWRA reassessments are happening.
When re assessments resume for the majority is anyone's guess. Currently system resources are being focused on new claims, followed by those with LCW reporting a change in health.
LCWRA isn't like PIP there is no end date. It carries on being paid until such a time as a claimant is found to have LCW or fit for work.
And the rest assessment "date" is only ever a guide.

Thank you for sharing that! So, just to confirm you didn’t inform them? I actually didn’t know you had to tell them, until I saw someone’s post about that. Then, I started to stress a little bit.
So, when they say they on the initial award letter that your claim will be reviewed after XX they don’t usually do that, and it’s just a guide?0 -
No I didn't inform them.
Yes re assessment prognosis is only ever a guide, as in normal times they can assess before that date, or afterwards etc.
LCWRA is different to PIP which has a set review date and a set award length.
