It's International music day! October 1st.

Music is the light in many people's lives. It inspires, encourages and brings people together. Studies even show that music is good for your health and your brain, providing positive physical, mental and emotional responses when people simply listen to music, as well as when they play or sing it. It's even in nature, so it's not a manmade thing.
International music day has been going for more years than I've been alive, the first day was celebrated way back in 1975, by the International Music Council (IMC.) The intention behind the day was originally to promote musical art among all sectors of society as well as applying the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) ideas of peace and friendship among people. So music was being used to help create friendships between nations and not just for dancing to. π
You can celebrate this day by throwing on your favorite tunes, just to have on in the background (music is shown to increase concentration, even for those with very noisy brains!) Or maybe make a new playlist, or revisit ones you made year back?
It's also Raccoon Day today, so please enjoy this image of a blind raccoon who gets really anxious and needs music through headphones to calm down. Click to watch the video all about him. β€οΈ
So, let's create a community playlist to celebrate this lovely day. You're allowed to add three tracks. Who are you going to choose?

I love music! It's such a big part of my life. I play piano and love to sing too, I'd always encourage people to try out an instrument, it's so rewarding.
Here are my 3 songs:
- Carnival - The Cardigans
- The Ghost Inside - Broken Bells
- Ur Life One Night - Unknown Mortal Orchestra
Looking forward to seeing other recommendations π
