Hi, my name is Joannesal! Does Attendance Allowance affect my claim for Universal Credit?

I am provided with Attendance Allowance 4 caring 4 my mum. Does this affect my claim for Universal Credit? I have declared the Carer's Allowance.

Attendance Allowance is paid to the claimant.
If you are receiving additional income for caring, no matter the source I'd presume you need to declare it as income to Universal Credit, with a potential deduction from your award.
Not a question I've come across before, I think it would be worth getting proper advice from a trained benefits advisor.

Hi @Joannesal and a warm welcome to the community!
It does sound like quite a complex benefit situation so just to echo Kimi, it is definitely worth speaking to a trained benefits adviser to make sure you are getting the right information!
It's lovely to have you here and I hope you enjoy your time on the community😊0 -

I found out that if the AA claim is for someone else who then pays u it is not classed as income and likely will b disregarded by UC. Was advised by UC just 2 update journal.
