ESA payment confusion

I recently applied for contributions based ESA due to having been paid 28 weeks SSP. My SSP ran out on 31/07/25 so my claim for ESA started 01/08/25 (though I understand the first week doesn't count).
I had my initial telephone appointment on 23/09/25 during which I agreed to everything discussed. I'd already sent sick notes - both an earlier note covering the date from which I'd applied and a more recent in date sick note.
Following the telephone appointment I emailed the advisor the SSP1 form sent to me from my employer.
On Monday (29th September) £58.75 went into my bank account from ESA. I'm so confused by this amount. I haven't had a letter outlining my award as of yet, but the weekly amount is £92.05 and the advisor said I'd get the backdated amount as well (which should be around £644 - after discounting the first week 1st August -8th August as there's then 7 weeks between 8th August and 29th September).
£58.75 isn't even a weeks payment (I'm over 25 so qualify for the £92.05) never mind the current week plus the 7 weeks backdated amount due.
Did this happen at the start of anyone else's claim and if so, how long was it before the backdated amount was paid

Hi there @redandreagar and a warm welcome to the community.
It sounds like that may have been a partial payment, so the following payment will be the full amount, with backpay coming separately. They often do this with claims. But the people who can give you a definite answer would be the DWP, so it may be worth you giving them a call.0
