Hello, Does any know the answer to my question about ADP please?

My husband was promoted to complete a review for ADP on-line in October 2024 in which he notified ADP about some changes to how his conditions were affecting him. In July 2025 they sent a decision and kept his award the same. He requested this to be looked at again which is called a Redetermination and supplied further evidence to support his reason for disagreeing with the outcome of his review. He has now received a Redetermination letter and his award has been increased but states the new award starts in July 2025.

I am wondering if it would be usual practice for the new award to be back dated to when the original review/notification of changes were reported (in this case October 2025) Any experiences/thoughts/knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated thank you.

    Hi,

I believe that due to a higher award being made due to a redetermination any backdated money due will be from the date social security Scotland made their initial decision to keep your husbands award the same. That was the date they made their decision and that is what you challenged. You mention in your post that they made their initial decision to keep award the same in July 25, and you also mention that you have been told that the higher rate award will be recorded as also starting in July 25 ( having been successful )so that makes sense.

So I would expect you to receive backdated money dated from July 25 only, not from any previous date that you supplied additional information.

    Kindest
