Is it a financial review where you have been asked to send in bank statements? 0

I have sat in on a number of reviews recently and on average they lasted an hour. They can be shorter or longer depending on how much information about you the assessor has available to them. I have found that reviews are slightly shorter when the assessor knows a lot about the specific medical condition. Do you have anyone that can be with you for support when you take the call? If there is no one that can physically sit with you then you can ask that a relative, friend or support worker is dialed in. Having someone with you in person or at the end of the phone can be really helpful particularly if you become overwhelmed. If you have no one than can support you then I would advise that if are feeling anxious or nervous at the start of the interview that you tell the assessor. If you become overwhelmed ask the assessor to stop so that you can take a few breathes to calm yourself down. One of the people I supported recently told the assessor that she needed to go and get a glass of water which gave her a break. 1
