Today is World Animal Day so I thought we could play a fun new game all about animals because who doesn't love animals?😄

We’re going from A to Z so one animal for each letter of the alphabet.

How It Works:

  • Start with the next letter in the alphabet.
  • Comment with an animal that starts with that letter.
  • Bonus points if you have a fun fact or a cute photo of your animal

I’ll start…

Armadillo!
(They are the only mammals that have a body covered in a hard shell)

What will B be?

A very high quality photo of a real life armadillo

    Baboon!

No bonus points for me, it's far too early for fun facts. 😆

    Chimpanzee!

A fun fact about that them is that they are one of the few animals that can recognise themselves in the mirror😄

    Dogs 😍

I once sent Reiki to all the dogs around the world (estimated 525 million, Stanley Coren/Psychology Today, 2012, other estimates suggest 1 billion).

It was to raise money for Manchester Dogs Home following the fire on 11th September 2014. It took me from 18th September 2014 to 7th December 2014.

I came across it by accident really Mary when I trained at college as a Reflexologist in 2007. The reflexologist I found (locally) to have treatments myself, was also a Reiki Master.

I qualified under her guidance in Tera-Mai Seichem Reiki Part I, in 2008 then practised on people and animals for over a year (in person); then I qualified in Part II in 2009 and could then practise via distance healing, not just in person, both of these Parts involved the use of symbols after attunement, then the final Part III/Reiki Master with further attunement and symbols. The last level enabled me to teach and attune others' I've not done that though.

The Federation of Holistic Therapies (UK) is a good source with a register of members if anybody either wants to look for a practitioner, or to be taught Reiki themselves. It is a beautiful 'treatment', I had my own business as a refexologist but never charged for Reiki which I often incorporated and never charged for Reiki that I did for animals.

I started practicing again this year (only for myself and my dogs mainly) after a break of over a year and occasionally, distance healing for trouble spots.

A good starting point of interest is Dr Mikao Usui (1865 - 1926). The lineage of my training is via Kathleen Milner, a US author and Reiki Master who trademarked Tera-Mai.

Sorry for the lengthy explanation! My help for the Manchester Dog's Home ❤️💜 I called 'Around the World in 80 days' and 'visited' 194 countries everyday between 2100 and 2200 hours.

    Immortal Jellyfish.

Though biologically immortal, they usually end up dying to disease or predation.

    Koala

blob:https://forum.scope.org.uk/214f8ec4-3b98-4c54-ba29-667621c82eb8 There was an error displaying this embed.  KOALAS DON’T HAVE TO DRINK (MUCH) WATER

Their name comes from the Dharug Aboriginal word and means “no drink." And in fact, Koalas don’t need to drink very much water because most of their hydration needs are satisfied by their dietary staple, eucalyptus leaves. They can and do drink from creeks and water holes if necessary, but if you see a koala drinking, it’s probably in distress.
