Disability premiums

Hi I am new here.

Recently I got a backdated refund from PIP. For 2018-2020. I was in standard daily living group but SHOULD have been in enhanced.

I then realised that I should have had enhanced disability premiums added onto my other benefits back then.

I contacted working tax credits and they amended my previous claim and awarded me a backdated refund.

Income related ESA are not budging.

Did anyone here back in 2020 get severe disability premium ( would have said ' extra money because severely disable) ?

AND ...

Enhanced disability premium ( might have said 'income disability guarantee ')

At the same time?

Both edp and sdp at the same time?

Thank you!

Yes it was possible to be receiving both EDP & SDP.

Have ESA givea reason for refusal?

    Thank you for reply!

TheThey sent a one page short letter saying I had received sdp . And was not eligible for any added premiums. They disregard the fact that my Pip claim has been changed to enhanced rate daily living ...

SDP is paid at one amount only.

To qualify for SDP with IR ESA, either rate of Daily Living PIP is enough.

So if you had SDP paid with your IR ESA previously when on standard PIP, you don't get any more money for changing to enhanced PIP.

Also if you were in the Support Group for ESA, that would have qualified you for Enhanced Disability Premium. Again, one rate payable and no change now you have retrospectively been awarded Enhanced PIP.

IR ESA and Working Tax Credits have different criteria, standard to enhanced PIP increases entitlement to the latter but not the former.
