Disabled and carer element
so my daughter is in full time college with an EHCP.
She is about to be kicked out for not attending or being late.
If she was to be kicked out, do we lose the disabled and carer element of universal credit until we find a suitable placement for her? Or does the EHCP stop this?
I’m hearing different things!!!
Thank you

The disabled child element would stop if she is no longer in education.
An ECHP being in place would not allow you to keep DCE.
As she gets PIP then you would still qualify for Carers Element regardless of her education status.
A local welfare rights organisation can help you navigate the system, disability and children that age is a complex area.

I don't know the answer which is why I suggested a trained benefits advisor, it's a complex area for an amateur like myself to give advice on.
