When you migrate if you do a phone claim it wont be Digital ID ive done a phone claim still got 3 weeks to see what money I get but alot of people saying thier doing ot that way to avoid the digital side of it

This is actually a really good thread to add to info for my letter to my MP (for what little its worth writing to him, although he is in the opposition party,Con, right now)
For me, and given the ever expanding increase in cyber crime, I cannot see our government actually getting this right.. Of course someone, legal or otherwise will make massive profit from it.

I heard of a potential card alternative early on. But not hearing anything about that now.

I agree and with bank checks the final reading for that bill is 21st October in house of lords where Dwp will have powers to check accounts just seems that its coming from all sides really truly and honestly shocking for all of us and that doesn't include the budget just have to try and become numb to it all day by day its more than apparent they do not care im starting to stockpile a few things brought a powerbank seriously thinking of getting generator even though im clueless whats good one or how to use and im buying tinned items I don not trust them at all

I don't have a smart phone, can't afford one, wouldn't even know how to set one up and how to go about paying some service so I can go online with it.

Doing Exactly the same with digital ID having a consultation with companies ect and then be done by primary legislation also read that therapy will be offered alongside job coaches

here is an interesting fact
As you age, skin on your fingertips becomes less elastic and the ridges get thicker. This does not change your fingerprint, but it's harder to scan or take a print from it.I have seen many old people in ZA trying to access their bank accounts and their prints don’t work.
I have also seen in Russia debit cards with the persons photograph.1 -
They started putting carbon advert on rayner sandwiches saying this is 0.1 of your daily carbon no refills of drinks its creeping in fills me with more dread everyday did you see in parliament the Digital ID debate hardly any mps attended and Liz kendell was very abrupt with her answers its obvious they agenda is unfolding and alot of people dont even see whats happening does anyone think any good will happen my daughter will not listen to anything im saying its her future I worry for

I see Russia is being mentioned. They tried digital ID and many Russians refused to sign up. So they reverted back to paper citizen passports, a physical booklet with your details written inside. It is not connected to any central system and government departments do not pass your information around.
Who would have thought Russia would end up more privacy friendly than the UK. I do not want digital ID or any form of ID, but if I had to carry identification I would take Russia's paper booklet over whatever biometric database Starmer is lining up for us.

I have a basic rule that nothing significant is on my phone. I won't put my bank stuff on there, I never use it to make payments, and don't even use the nhs app on it. If it were to be stolen, all that someone would get would be a lot of pictures of random plants…:)
At my workplace, most all departments have gone digital, so we spent a LOT OF TIME signposting people with no internet access/computer understanding/no ability to use phones (and often we can't actually resolve the issue, because there are no options). We are not trained to handle most of these enquiries to resolution, nor do we have access to secure databases that would be needed to resolve them - but we are the only face to face staff, and so we do what we can.
This has taught me that there are a LOT of people who can't use phones or computer devices, not just disabled people. A LOT. I am sure the digital ID scheme fails equality legislation on more grounds than just disability.
And that's before you get into human rights, privacy and the risk of databases being hacked…

Russia used to have a photograph on debit cards.
While I do not agree with digital identity anyone who has a cell phone be warned. Big brother is already on your case.If you drive your car probably gives out your location.
What happens if someone presses the wrong buttons declaring that you are deceased.
This happened to someone I know. He was locked out of everything and it took over a year to be reinstated as alive again. He nearly starved and ended up with huge legal bills as it involved his house and whole life. He could not travel, no money.

Well 89 million people in Vietnam got locked out from accounts for refusing and in China hundreds of people on the streets god could you imagine no way if they try to get me to do it I will flatly refuse

89 million mostly inactive and fraudulent bank accounts if you read and believe everything on the Internet
