@JD_INCINERATOR doing stand-up comedy is incredibly brave! That's amazing. How long have you been doing it? I'm so glad that the community is helping you. Maybe be kind to yourself and don't put pressure on things. Keep talking here and you'll build those relationships 😊

I find stand-up to be as challenging as all the surgeries as I had to have a shunt change due to my Hydrocephalus, and might be as daunting as my parents' enduring their uncertainty that I'd even survive what I went through as a baby. I take that pain with me every day along with others, but I do love to be silly and joke about, so that's where my comedy comes in.

I undertook a course throughout August and September, and I've currently done two gigs. I agree, I just have to let things happen organically and enjoy the moments :)

You've been through a lot @JD_INCINERATOR. I think it's great that you can do your comedy despite everything. Making people laugh is such a gift and I bet it's really rewarding for you. Use that pain for good, just like you're doing already, and cherish the happy moments you get whenever you can. Our past doesn't define us, but we can use it to make the future better 😊

Comedy is something that I have only discovered because of Andy's Man Club-a charity for men's mental health. They recommended that I give it a shot, and it is because of them that I have done it. But there's a side of me that's much much deeper. I have an extreme empathy and compassion for people, and I write for various websites as well. But I don't want it to be all about me, which is what I worry I do sometimes. I really care about what other people do and their skills fascinate me and I want connection and friendship because that's the light that keeps us driving forward. I really appreciate you kind words of support :)

@JD_INCINERATOR good luck with your Meetups meeting. And bravo to you for organising it.

Maybe you can consider that your friends and other people are already giving your their maximum that they are comfortable with. I have a philosophy that I use for almost everything, including relationships. It sounds simple, but every day is a struggle. Perhaps this will help you. It's something I heard a long time ago in my journey….

Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

Lol! Yes, there's always an achievement to celebrate, however small it may seem to others. Sometimes it's the will to open our eyes in the morning. Good morning to you 😊
