Power of attorney & swapping broadband contracts

hi all, I have a question I have poa for dad. Bt are charging a fortune for broadband, community fibre are doing a cheaper, better deal via uswitch. I can use onetouch so his details go over flawlessly. However, this means his email & his mobile number will be the contact. Obviously I’m poa with bt, but this won’t go over. He has dementia, so is confused a lot of the time. We’ve been with bt for thirty odd years. Has anyone had a similar trial? It looks like I might have to send the poa physically rather than online. It’s the one headache that’s stopping me from saving dad money.

A photo of POA document isn't legally binding so it's quite common to be asked for the physical copy. You're right to be hesitant r.e. sending the original…it's not advisable to part with your only copy - even temporarily. You can get copies made by most solicitors, usually about £20-30 each which is a pain I know!! Sadly a photocopy done yourself isn't legally binding either. I'm not entirely sure why it justifies 30 quid a copy, to me it seems like the closest thing to a license for the solicitor to print themselves money 😆

it’s so annoying when it could be done with those verified codes. I’ve done everything with a code. Arghh.
