Universal credit
Hi me and my partner been migrate over to universal credit from ESA and housing benefit. People keep telling not to worry but we are 92.50 a week down that 370 a month 4810 a year each. People are saying not loss i disagree

There are two possibilities.
The first UC statement can be incorrect with bit(s) missing.
The second is UC is paid monthly and there are 4.3 weeks in a month, to get an equivalent amount for a weekly benefit you have to multiply the amount by 52 then divide by 12.
The payment cycle for UC is different and can take some getting used to, things can look wrong but are in fact correct.
An example is a deduction for New Style ESA at £609.05 looks incorrect from a weekly amount of £140.55, but is in fact correct.
You can ask Citizens Advice Help to Claim service to check your first payment statement is correct
Or contact a local welfare rights organisation for help
