Having A Bad Day

I should have had a telephone appointment with my Consultant on the 15 October 2025 to discuss blood test results I had done the week before in clinic. They never phoned me I carried my phone round with me all day.
On the 16 October 2025 I phone my consultants secretary to ask why? No response.
Then today I got a letter from the hospital saying I had missed the call. Which I did not and no missed call was shown on my phone. The problem is they have written to my GP saying I had missed the call.
I did change my phone number on the 26 August 2025 but I phoned the appointment line on the 27 August to update them and had two reminder about my appointment on the 15 October.
I have spent all morning phoning the GP who will make a note on my file not my fault and send the hospital an Email. Then phone consultants secretary again saying had they got my new number and would she confirm. Then phoned the appointment line to get another appointment and would they check my number which she did and was very nice. I said I was not prepared to wait another six months for test results. I have another appointment for 5 November and she has emailed the consultant in capital letters with my new phone number although it is on their system.
I now need a lie down in a dark room as I am exhausted.
PS Just had phone call from consultants secretary saying she will email the Consultant and ask him to phone me asap. I told her I had got an appointment for the 5 November but could she make sure they phoned me on the right number.
Result I think.

That sounds incredibly exhausting @Bluebell21. Well done for calling and getting it sorted, hopefully they'll actually ring next time! It's an absolute nightmare getting in touch with my consultant. I get one phone call a year if I'm lucky and it lasts less than 5 minutes! Definitely makes you feel fed up.
@Amberpearl have you got any way to heat your home at the moment?

No
Using a hot water bottle

probably going to get into trouble here. Maybe Scope have a few spare electric throws. I received an email a while ago offering one.

@Amberpearl you can contact Disability Energy Support | Disability charity Scope UK who can offer an array of potential support and cost saving options, plus you can request a heated blanket. Just to make you aware though, they are dealing with a backlog of requests.
Have you requested the heating to be fixed? Have you been given a date?
@jonf nothing to get into trouble for 😉
