Changing UC payment from monthly to fortnightly
I’m trying to rectify my financial situation and I believe that it might be better for me to manage getting payments every two weeks rather than specific day of month.
As I have autism I have requested this, but how likely is it to be accepted? I asked in my journal yesterday and no response yet

I asked (and explained why) when I first applied. They were fine with it. You can also ask for your rent to go straight to your landlord too

I asked for this and it didn't work as I thought it would, as I assumed it would bring my payment forward by two weeks. It wasn't the case.

That is correct. The first payment after an APA is actually worse because you still have to wait the full month, but then only get half the payment.
From now on, you will be getting half of the monthly payment roughly every two weeks.
If you needed money sooner, you could have asked for an advance payment instead. That is a loan which gives you money quickly but has to be paid back over the following months.
