You say you lost your wife to cancer only 3 months ago and now you are looking to meet someone already and take them out for a meal!
Most people would be grieving at this point and not even thinking about starting a relationship so soon!

Hello @Skyedog and a warm welcome to the community. 😊
I'm so sorry for the loss of your wife. The National Bereavement Service has some information on coping with loneliness after loss which might be useful to you.
There are lots of ways you can start making connections again, including online platforms like ours. You can find some general conversations that might interest you in our coffee lounge.
Have you looked to see if there are any bereavement groups or services in your local area? It could be a nice way to meet people and talk to others who will truly understand what you're going through.
It will take time, but keep reaching our to people, little by little you’ll find new connections again. In the mean time, please be kind to yourself, grief isn’t something to rush through, and seeking friendship sounds like a healthy way to start healing.
