PIP review form - is it worth sending by recorded or special delivery?
Hi there,
I want to send my PIP review form back. It states on the form that it does not need to be sent by recorded or special delivery as it may take longer to return to them!?!
I want to send it recorded in case it gets lost and the fact that it needs to be there by next Wed. There has already been two extentions of time granted for this form.
Can anyone give me any advise about this. Has anyone had personal experience of this please?
Thank you in advance π

Hi
I have only ever sent mine obtaining proof of postage from the post office.
They are right in advising that posting by paid methods can take longer to reach them on time and you risk not meeting the deadline.

Thank for the reply π
Can I ask, how does it take longer? I'm confused? The post office states it only takes up to 3 days, I just don't get it?
Thanks again for your help, it is appreciated...

Because it has to be signed for at the d.w.p sorting office and processed through to the correct department so there is a risk it may not reach them by the deadline.
Thats why they advise against sending the documents using those methods.
Its up to the individual if they want to take that risk.

My answer probably won't be popular. I've only ever used next day special delivery to the address the Freepost envelope would go to. It's given me piece of mind. All mail has to be processed at Wolverhampton. I cannot see why a paid for 24 hour service would arrive later than a free one.

I also used n cut day delivery, proof they do have it on time, we canβt decide how long it takes them to actually look at it,for peace of mind I know they have received it, rather than normal post they say they havenβt !

I always use next day delivery for my own peace of mind. When I sent my last PIP review form in the post office man said I was doing the right thing as so many forms get βlostβ otherwise. This way I know it has arrived and have proof if thereβs any issues

Hi, special delivery is a good idea, because it offers enhanced security, next-day delivery, and proof of delivery, making it a reliable method for important or time-sensitive items. This service typically includes features like tracking and a signature upon receipt, which provides peace of mind.
I have always sent important documents via this service and to DWP.

Thank you all for your replies π©΅
It was sent as 'Tracked 24' in the end without the option for it to be signed for at the end, so there was no need to worry about that bit when it got there. It took 4 days to get there, and arrived in time.
Thanks again π
