Site Mainstay Left The Forum
What has happened to Bluebell21? I am asking as I can't believe such a large part of this community has left.
I for one will miss her input.

It's strange. AppleJacks, WhatThe, and now BlueBell all seem to have left the forum within the space of a few days.

Hi @Chris75, Sadly, Bluebell chose to leave the forum today, she is ok. I'll pass her the kind comments you've made (and @michael57 ). Thank you.

I believe this forum was in place long before they had joined it. If they're dismissing the online community house rules and are refusing to respect them, simply because these rules are not dancing to their tune, then, they're free to go set up their own forum and rules!

This is very true, we are free to leave and set up elsewhere, but i don't imagine asking a simple question breaks any rules?

A "simple question" can absolutely break online community forum rules if its content or intent violates the forum's specific guidelines. I can give you a tone of examples on this.

Asking a question solely to provoke an argument which indirectly mocks or insults others can be a rule violation. This is called trolling or baiting.
For instance, AppleJacks asked others to ignore me. Although I didn't give a monkey's about it, leave alone complaining about it, this is targeting another forum user, which constitues a direct violation of respectful communication rules.

I believe bluebell was a respected and valued member and insinuating she left for your reasoning is rather tackless as she cannot answer your statement

I’ve been a member for a few years now, and members do come and go , it’s part of the rhythm of any long standing community. If someone has chosen to leave of their own volition, I think it’s deeply disrespectful to speculate or debate their reasons in public. We owe them the dignity of silence, not post-mortems. Their contributions speak for themselves.

Hi all,
While we are always disappointed when members choose to leave the community, it's important for us to respect their wishes. As a gentle reminder, please avoid discussing or speculating about other members out of respect for their privacy and personal choice.
You’re absolutely right, asking what members think about moderation procedure doesn’t break any rules and would not result in disciplinary action. I’m not sure if you saw my response to the discussion, but we always welcome feedback.

For your information, my statement was rather hypothetical, and thus I was not "insinuating" anything whatsoever regarding any particular individual. I don't know, neither do I want to know the reason(s) for which people come on to this forum or leave it. This is entirely up to them.
In addition, online community forum rules serve to maintain a respectful, safe, and orderly environment for all members, and adherence to these rules, whether we like it or niet, is crucial. This doesn't mean that I'm "insinuating" that the forum user in question has failed to adhere to the rules of the forum, as I don't even remember a single thing that she has said.
