Divorce - mediators who specialise in SEND and long term financial arrangments
Hi, I am separated from my husband and we are both in agreement on getting a divorce. I need advice/recommendations on who to speak to regarding child arrangements for a 14 year old who has down syndrome. His father has alcoholism and has lost two jobs due to drinking, has a Drinking driving offence and is under investigation by the Teacher regulation agency. He wants him to stay over night and I do not think it is safe currently. I need a solicitor who specialises in safe guarding children with SEND and who can offer thoughts on finances for the long term future.
Any advice/thoughts gratefully received.

Hi @HilaryP and welcome to the community. I'm sorry that you're going through this, it must be so stressful. Have you contacted any family mediators and explained your situation? I found this website which may be useful.
I'm not very knowledgeable on this topic I'm afraid, but one of our members might be.

A warm welcome to the community from me @HilaryP
There is some information on divorce and separation for parents of disabled children that may be helpful. I'm not able to recommend any particular lawyer or solicitor but I hope you do manage to find one and as Rachel said hopefully a member of the community may be able to share their advice or experience on this situation with you0 -
