Pip & UC
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me when applying online for uc if it asks Are you in receipt of pip? Or do you need to add it to the journal, my friend told the agent when he phoned to confirm her ID details but she can't rem if it was mentioned in the form. This was only yesterday, but her memory is so bad. Its been niggling her. Tia.

There is a dummy copy of the form here with all the questions.
I was awarded PIP last year but didn't tell UC, as it wouldn't impact my claim at all (single, LCWRA, no spare bedroom & live alone).

@Kimi87 she's also single, LWCRA,lives alone but has spare bedroom which they know about. Another peculiar little side note, her rent as shown on statement from july this year says one thing, but when UC did a check with her landlord it said a slightly smaller amount. How can that be?Thanks.

In which case the PIP award (Daily Living) is potentially relevant, if she receives frequent and regular overnight care from a non resident carer she may be entitled for UC to pay for an additional bedroom.

If it's two nights every week for the purpose of providing overnight care then I think she has a good chance.

I'd recommend she adds a Journal note (using the payment option) stating that she gets Daily Living PIP and receives regular overnight care from a non resident carer who uses her spare bedroom.
This should generate an agent to create a To Do task, of getting her to tick a box essentially confirming the same.
