Hi, my name is BobbieSponge! How do I tell PIP about my condition worsening?
Hi All,
I haven't seen a Dr. in a few years I have osteoarthritis & have been on standard PIP since 2017, my last assessment was in 2022, (was told they wouldn't assess me for 10 years) I have a hip labral tear around my hip, which was replaced in 2019, as am getting older (65) am finding that my pain in my hip is getting worse & more painful, how do I tell pip of this, Nothing has changed in my medication, still on all my meds, Dr tells me just to keep taking the pain relief & rest more, I use a crutch when out as I suffer with balance problems & have had a few falls, (This was when the Dr sent me to have a 'Heart test' which was perfect, only got a letter from Hospital no follow up from Dr) I am sick & tired of how we are treated by the medical professions & it seems more now a days how hard it is to get the proper help either be a Dr or with benefits, how can I get higher standard on PIP, as am unable to do things as good as I did in 2022? or should I just leave it all alone in case I loose it all? any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You can make a change of circumstances with PIP to request a new assessment.
However it is possible for your award to go down as well as up if you do this. It is not enough just to say that you can't do things as well. You need to fit the specific criteria to score more points.
The list of descriptors and points are here. You need to score at least 12 points for an Enhanced Award in either Daily Living or Mobility sections.
