Referred to Carrick integrated community mental health team

I've been referred to Carrick (Mid Cornwall) integrated community mental health team for 6 appointments/assessments which in their words "understand your mental health needs". via Carrick Integrated Community Mental Health Team but I don't know if I myself referred myself or if I've been referred by a 3rd party, the letter said I was referred to.

The Carrick Integrated Community Mental Health Team is the main secondary-care mental health service for the Truro area, and being referred there usually means the professionals involved think I would benefit from a more in-depth review and tailored support, not just brief GP-level input.

My thread is asking the question, what will all this be about? Is it a 6 appointments to assess or 6 assessments?

Basically I'm fighting for recovery and high level documentation, I don't know who referred me, I would be surprised if it was my GP she just blew off any of my qualms on that fateful August appointment where even then I suspected that GP's are being lent on to disregard many issues.

Basically I've been in and out of a mental rut for years, you're looking at 23 years since I was with a child psychiatrist, I remember the psychiatrist because he looked like Dr Robotnik without the big moustache. :)

That sounds promising @JasonRA. I'm not sure how you'd find out who referred you. Could you perhaps ask in the first session?

I'd think it would be more likely that they'd assess your needs over the 6 sessions but hopefully someone on the community has been on a similar pathway and can share their experience.

Hope it all goes well for you ☺️
