Hi, my name is longnosebear. Any advice on where to turn after separating from gaslighting partner?

I’m a late diagnosed autistic mum going through an awful time with gaslighting ex partner and father.
Children are struggling with the emotional trauma and are likely both neurodivergent also

I am such a low ebb. Think it’s time to involve social care for myself and possibly for the kids to and maybe legal advice. I am scared and exhausted and don’t feel I can trust many people, least of all those closet. I’m highly intelligent but this almost feels like a disadvantage currently if that makes sense?
does anyone have any advice about where to turn?
sorry to dump but I’m desperate and feeling alone and that my disability is being used against me as a parent.
thanks

Hi @longnosebear, That all sounds so overwhelming, I'm sorry you're feeling alone in it all. It's horrible that your disability is being used against you too, I'm sure you're doing all you can for your children. I hope our community can help you feel a little less alone and offer some good advice. We'll send an email today so please look out for that.

When you say you are scared, what would you say is frightening you the most?

Involving social care can be nerve-wracking but they often want to keep families together and do what they can to support you. That might be a good start to see what they can offer.

FamilyAction have some support line services if you'd like to talk to someone about your situation with someone who understands: https://family-action.org.uk/get-support/familyline/

I hope some of our members will be able to offer some good advice and kind words.

Hope things start feeling easier for you all soon.
