So if they take Article 8 a right to family life will that effect all of us as well stating they will take this out to tackle immigration ?? Surly that effects everyone illegal or not or am I missing something

At one point, one party can't remember who said a about Britain Bill of rights, the government seems to cherry pick what they follow. With the disability cuts from the tories and now labour, they ignored echr about our human rights being attacked. Kier starmer wrote and changed some when he was a lawyer, it was originally set up after ww2 to protect people like the Jewish people from evil like hitler. I may be wrong in some of this

Catherine, I was confused by this too, but looked into it. UK citizens aren’t affected, our right to family and private life stays fully protected.
The changes are only about immigration cases, limiting how migrants can use Article 8 to challenge things like deportation or visa refusals. It’s really about giving the courts clearer guidelines on how to handle those cases and reducing repeat appeals.
