Housing benefit universal credit
just been offered a property as I’m homeless duty. If I pay a month upfront but I’m on uc and lwrca rewarded how do I claim the help with rent etc I’m really confused

Hi,
On the day that you move in, you need to make a change of circumstances for your housing situation on your online journal. (Or via phone if it's a phone-only claim).
You will need to provide evidence of the tenancy agreement if private renting. Or your landlord will confirm with UC if it's council/housing association.
Housing Element will then be included with your next UC statement, and paid at the same time as your usual UC payment.

so I have to find the money to pay the first month in advance is that correct thank you I’m so worried it is a council property from my council

Yes if you are required to pay a month in advance, you will need to pay.
