LCWRA Backpay
Hi all.
A good few months ago I posted asking how long an assessment could take as it had already been ages. Well, it finally went ahead and after 15 months, I've been awarded LCWRA. My question is, when I got my letter for just LCW, it says I do not need to provide anymore fit notes and I'm wondering if I'm entitled to any backpay with this new award? That letter was dated end of 2022. In 2023 my conditions worsened and I spent basically a year waiting for my reassessment forms (UC50?) before finally receiving them and starting this 15month wait.
Sorry for the rambling, I'm terribly confused about it all and am curious on backpay entitlement and when I could expect my first payment.

If found to have LCWRA from a previous LCW award, you are only eligible for backpay if both the below apply:
The claimant triggered the review by reporting a change in health
The claimant submitted continous Fit Notes from then up until the decision.
Without those things, LCWRA element would first apply in the Assessment Period in which the decision was made.
If it's missing from your next statement, they would owe you one months LCWRA.

Well it was triggered through a change in circumstances but seeing as I was told no fit notes, that part is missing so I guess no backdated entitlement. Quite shady to tell peeps fit note not required but its actually required on the sly ..... ugh.
Anyway, much thanks for the response, I appreciate the info :)

Technically Fit Notes are not required to progress the reassessment, but I can't say I disagree with what you've said.
