Hello all.

I had a pip review back in November 2024. I filled out the paperwork and returned it. Unfortunately in December 2024 I my health and mobility suffered, I was diagnosed with two further issues. They affected my mobility severely.

I then (as required by the DWP) informed them of these changes, providing evidence etc. The review continued for a year, until yesterday I received my decision letter.

It states my award for enhanced components for daily and mobility (mobility is a new award for me) starts from 13/11/25 until 10/11/24.

My question is surely I should receive back pay for the mobility component from last December. Can anyone confirm this? Will I get a separate letter?

Thanks in advance for any replies, very much appreciated.

Apologies for the typo on the award dates. It should read 10/11/28

    Hi,

As this was a review started by the DWP, they are not obliged to give backpay in this case.

I understand you sent more information after the initial form, but that was still part of the review, and not a proper Change of Circumstances instigated by yourself.

They can still offer backpay if they choose to, but that seems to be getting less frequent now.
