this is not nice to wake up cold. Can I ask why. Do you have heating??

4 am and I just stepped outside as th dogs were complaining that the cat wanted in. It certainly is cold out there.

I don't have radiators in my flat. They're more like heaters that blow hot air in the room.
I have 2 heaters in my sitting room and i put both of them on to warm the room through, but then i turn one off and have one running the whole day.
I'm obsessed with fleecy pyjamas rn and i find wearing those for bed helps. I'm wearing fleecy cardigans during the day.
A nice hot drink helps as well.

I like sherpa fleece blankets best.
I've a single (B&M) for the couch, and a queen size (bedsure) for my single bed so it tucks in, or rather drapes in a way to completely trap heat as it weighs a ton and takes too much energy to tuck in ๐
I also have a winter duvet (13.5t) on bed. I've been tempted by a 15t but it's hard enough for me to wrestle the 13.5 into a clean cover twice a month.
This week was full change and I was assisted by (not my) cat Rosie.

Fleecy pyjamas and blankets are wonderful, I love them! I love the feeling of warmth and cosiness ๐
@Kimi87 Rosie is adorable! Who does she belong to? Does she just come to visit you when she likes? You're very lucky if that's the case!

Rosie lives across the street - didn't get on with the dog so she was rehomed, before coming back ๐ So the family care for her as an outdoor cat. She has several other places she visits.
It took a long time for her to trust me, Rosie isn't a cat you can wander up to & fuss which I respected.
I live in a ground floor home so Rosie started letting herself in one day and things went from there.
Her family are aware and totally happy for me to feed her, so a few times a week she gets treats. I was even given flowers from then recently, as a thank you for being kind to her.

That's so sweet! How lovely of them to give you flowers, I'm glad they're happy for you to feed her.
I had a similar situation in my last house with a ginger tomcat called Gully. He was very friendly and would often just pop by. My son loves cats and sometimes when it was raining and Gully was still outside he'd have a sleepover at ours! The family were fine about it and understood that he's a very friendly cat who loves attention ๐

Had some brass come into the bank today for an old phone sale, decided to get ready for the incoming Winter โค๏ธ

I swear by my hot water bottle (Boots the Chemist approximately ยฃ5 quid).
As a kid mum used to fill a glass corona lemonade bottle with hot water because back then the only heating we had was a coal fire in the living room. The rest of the house was absolutely freezing.

And single glazed windows too! I used to try and dress for school under my blankets in bed!

Me and my sister used to have competitions over who could get dressed the fastest under the blankets!
