Asked to report old diagnosis
Hi. Writing on behalf of a friend because she’s too unwell to deal with this issue. She’s having a case review and was told to report a change of circumstance because apparently she was supposed to report her COPD diagnosis separately to UC too even though she had a WCA back in 2023 when she wrote the diagnosis into the form, sent in evidence, was questioned about her condition and was awarded LCWRA. She’s worried reporting a change now will trigger a reassessment which doesn’t seem right. Any advice appreciated she’s really struggling and wants to avoid unnecessary stress and her rights are important for her too. Thanks

Who said she needs to report it to them separately? That's nonsense, she already has lcwra for it and they have evidence of it on her UC50

Case reviewer said it during her review phone call. I was in the call supporting my friend and spoke up in her behalf that there must be a mistake because she reported it in the UC50 form and it was the subject of her WCA. Reviewer still insisted that was a separate thing and she should have called UC too or put it in journal at the time when she got the diagnosis. What can she do now? Should she report the change still not to get sanctioned? And if they want to reassess make a complaint?

Sorry are you talking about a assesment or reassessment.... Or are you talking about a review where they ask to see your bank statements.....

She’s hanging a case review and was told to report a change in her health condition. The deadline is tomorrow so she gave them a list of all her diagnosis and highlighted with dates when she told about those to UC already in the past. Luckily she found copies of her sick notes she used to take to Jobcentre before she got LCWRA. She got a response tonight in journal saying they will let her know if there’s a change in her commitments?

I'm not sure what a case review is I'm afraid , is that a work capability assessment ? Like a UC 50 form ..... I'm not sure why they would ask her for diagnosis if she is already on lcwra

I was just looking at what a case review is .... It says that it's a UC review , the one where they ask for id and statements .... If that is what she's having I have no idea why they would look into diagnosis etc

Sorry the only reason why I haven't responded to this thread is i'm confused too. I was always under the impression that once you were awarded LCWRA it didn't matter if you had any new diagnosis's nor that you needed to inform them.
Maybe someone with abit more knowledge can clarify.

Thanks everyone. The purpose of the case review is to check whether she’s getting the right amount of money too. So there could be some logic but it’s not right still. My children and I are on disability benefits too and I’ve seen lots of funny goings in the last couple of months.
