Turning off notifications for individual post

Is there a way of turning off notifications for an individual post?.When I woke up this morning I had 22 messages in my inbox to alert me to messages that made me feel anxious as im awaiting messages from elsewhere.

  There is I only get notified of private messages or posts I have interacted on don't know how I did it but check out your own profile page

  Go to account & privacy settings, click on notifications then select/deselect what you want or don't want.
