Housing - any advice? Councillor helping but can't get through to my MP

Its been a while..

Advise needed some weeks ago

I approached a Councillor via the telephone .don't know what to make of her.

I said to her can I trust you she responded by saying well i haven't

Caused you any harm so far.

I'm not sure if she has experience

Much .

I asked her what made her be a Councillor She said she needed help and was at a very difficult time and a councillor helped her and she wanted to help others in the community.

I told her im eligible for 2 bed she then said she thinks I bed would be quicker.

She did however contact social services on my behalf for a needs essessment.

And kept going on about how she's helping.

Not sure what happened all I got was at the moment advised to give my set of keys to them and they would give me an alarm.

Its very difficult for me as I'm estranged from my family somewhat.

Its very dysfunctional Minipulaptive. Devious family just use and abuse people .

It all starts from bad parents .

Anyway I can't even get hold of my MP I've emailed her 3 times what a nightmare.

Thanks for sharing all of this. It really sounds like you’ve had a tough time so I can understand why you’re feeling frustrated.

From what you have described it sounds like the councillor’s response to your question about trust wasn’t very reassuring so its understandable you're questioning her experience but it’s good that she contacted social services. Hopefully you will hear something soon and have that assessment carried out

If the MP hasn’t replied to your email then it may be worth attending one of their drop in clinic/sessions if that’s possible and appropriate for you but hopefully you will hear back from her soon🙂

Hi thank you for your response.

I've spoken to the MP admin staff and was told the MPwould contact me .

To many obstacles in the system.

As far as the Councillor is concerned im at a loss I find her attitude negative.

She keeps saying I can't do

Miracle s . I've done this that etc .

But at the moment I haven't much choice.

Apologies social services haven't done anything other than want a copy of my house keys and give me a panic alarm button.

I forgot to say told councillor about the tennant who is on licence from prison has been threatening me and I have told police and still waiting to hear from them its been 3 months.

The councillor commented

That oh they not going to come out and do anything

They haven't got time or resources.

I was shocked by her comments.

Thank you for the update @hass, i'm sorry to hear that you're not getting the support you need from those who are supposed to help. It must be very frustrating to feel like you’re constantly hitting roadblocks especially when you're raising serious concerns about your safety and wellbeing.

It sounds like the way the councillor responded was very dismissive and I can understand why you'd feel at a loss. You expect more from people who are in positions responsible for helping others!

I really hope the MP does follow through soon and that you finally get some proper support, hopefully you won’t be waiting too long for a reply but it is good that you managed to get in touch with their admin staff in the meantime

I've just found out that my MP doesn't hold consitituent surgery, apparently she is secatary for the cabinet.

As mentioned before the councilor is not helpful at all.

I have to speak to MP face to face in absolute

Confidence.

I'm dead in my tracks

MPs who serve in the cabinet should still be holding surgeries. Maybe not as regularly as non cabinet members, but they should still be held. Sometimes they can be appointment only.

Hi I spoke to the Labour Party office and was told that MP have the automy on how to run there surgeries. .

What do I do .

I'm not getting support from no where.

Hi all hope your all well

And keeping warm .

Something sinister is going on and I can't put my finger on it .

Anyway the councilor I was going on about someweeks ago messaged me saying she was ill and would get back to me once she's well.

So I contacted her weekago she got Intouch

As I had no heating in the flat . She intervened due to my vulnerabilities

2 cowboys coming hadn't a clue and said there is no gas supply in the property and I haven't paid my bill.

I was fuming spoke to my energy company who confirmed what I already knew there is supply.

It turns out both engineers did not turn on the emergency valve on The boiler should have been reset . They didn't do that.

As confirmed by the energy supplier.

They spent 6 minutes .

It should have been an hour at least as it was due to be serviced

My gas supply has been capped at my requests.

The landlord has changed contractors in any event they should have known you just un cap and turn the valves on the n postion
