Migrated Successfully i think?

Friday 28th November i think i successfully migrated from legacy benefits to UC in a 2hr 23mins telephone call. My deadline day to migrate was 30th November and i could not put off migrating any longer so i bit the bullet.

The UC telephone guy was really nice and super friendly which immediately made me feel at ease which was nice and much needed because i was in a state of panic about the whole migration thing.

The questions then came thick and fast and for the most part i was able to answer them. Firstly he wanted to confirm my identity which i did by providing my NI number, D.O.B, Address, GP details, Landlord details including their address and telephone number, Oh and my bank details.

We then went on to my various health conditions which went well.

Finally (after 2hrs 23mins) the very nice man from UC informed me that i had successfully migrated and that my local Job Centre will be in touch soon.

Btw, in future will be contacted by telephone for all UC related stuff (apparently i have been placed in the telephone only category which means i do not need a UC journal or ever attend appointments in person).

Finally, i had a lot of assistance during my very long Migration call with UC because it was a three-way conference call setup/configured by a Benefits officer from my Housing Associations who did much of the talking on my behalf.

Top Tip:

If you still haven't migrated whether through fear of the migration process or for any other reason please do consider having another person with you on the migration call (a 3 way call) because for me it literally saved the day.

I'd quickly just like to add again how valuable i found it to have the help of a Benefits Advisor with me on a 3 way call with UC because i have literally been beside myself with worry over the whole migration process for nearly 3 months. So worried that i'd already decided not to migrate which would've meant losing all of my benefits. It was only the intervention of my housing association benefits lady who eventually convinced me to do a 3 way migration call with her and UC.

    Update:

Yesterday (one day after my telephone migration to UC) i received a letter from UC telling me they had extended my deadline date to migrate until 25th January 2025. I see good and bad things in that. Good because i would not have lost my legacy benefits for about five weeks but also bad because the whole migration to UC had made me pretty ill.
